forceDownload

forceDownload -- opens the "Save As" dialog to same files

Usage

wimpy.swf?forceDownload=yes

Parameters

yes - opens the "Save As" dialog
no - load the requested file in a new browser window.

This option defaults to "no"
You can either explicitly set this option to "yes" or "no" or simply do not include this option when loading the player and Wimpy will use the "default" value.

Description

Setting this option to "yes" will causes the player to open a "Save As" dialog to allow the user to save the file to their local machine.

Setting this option to "yes" will causes the player to p op up a new window and allow the end users browser to handle saving or playing or just loading the file in the open browser window.

This option is used in conjunction with the displaydownloadButton option.

If this option is not set, the player will default to "no" and load requested files into an empty browser window.

NOTE: This option is not available when running wimpy off of an XML playlist. since this feature requires special back-end server code (such as PHP or ASP) to handle this kind of functionality.
